Melinda Nypen
Executive Director, Community and Affordable Home Lending, JPMorgan Chase
Melinda Nypen is an Executive Director in Community and Affordable Lending, a function within Chases’ Home Lending organization.In her role, she partners with other lines of business in the firm to expand the strategy and mission of Community and Affordable Lending which is sustainable homeownership among low-and-moderate income and minority customers and communities across the full economic spectrum.Her team also works closely with the Community Impact Team in governance over Home Lending’s portion of the $30B Racial Equity Commitment.Melinda has been with the firm for over 20 years and in the mortgage industry almost 30 years.
Creating homeownership opportunities and helping customers build financial wealth has been the focus of Melinda’s career, having held senior leadership roles in mortgage strategy, sales, operations, and underwriting across Retail, Wholesale and Correspondent distribution channels.
In her work at Chase, Melinda is also a member of the Phoenix leadership team, serving on the Arizona Market Leadership Team and as Executive Sponsor for the External Community Committee, where she leads initiatives to deepen the impact Chase has in the community with the public sector, business leadership organizations, non-profits and other community partners.Melinda also represents Chase on the Local Advisory Committee for Phoenix Local Initiatives Support Coalition (LISC), focusing her attention on their efforts to develop affordable housing solutions.
Melinda earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration from Alma College, Alma, MI, and her Executive MBA from the W.P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University.She has two sons, Tyler (28) and Tanner (25) and lives in Phoenix with her husband, Corey.
